As a photographer, I’ve always been inspired by the editorials, campaigns, and fashion stories created across Europe every summer.The beautiful villas overlooking the sea. The charming Mediterranean villages. The effortless elegance. The golden light. The feeling of summer that so many luxury brands, magazines, and fashion campaigns are built around.For years, creating imagery like that can feel out of reach.Organizing models, accommodations, transportation, locations, styling, and logistics on your own can quickly become overwhelming, not to mention expensive.
This retreat was created to change that.

THE EXPERIENCE

While photography is at the heart of this retreat, the experience extends far beyond creating beautiful images.This is an opportunity to step away from everyday life and spend a week immersed in creativity, inspiration, and the slower pace of Mediterranean living. We’ll spend our days exploring beautiful locations, photographing stunning models, sharing meals, watching sunsets, and creating work we’re genuinely excited about.Some photographers join retreats looking for hands-on guidance and feedback. Others are simply seeking beautiful locations, professional models, and the opportunity to build a stronger portfolio.

This retreat is designed for both.

Throughout the week I’ll be available to answer questions, provide feedback, demonstrate my approach to working with models, and share the techniques I’ve developed throughout my career as a professional photographer. At the same time, you’ll have the freedom to experiment, follow your own creative instincts, and create imagery that reflects your personal style. My goal isn’t for everyone to leave with the same photographs.My goal is for everyone to leave inspired, creatively energized, and with a portfolio full of images that feel elevated, intentional, and uniquely their own.

OUR HOME FOR THE WEEK

Our private luxury villa in Crete will serve as both our home and one of our primary shooting locations throughout the retreat.Perched above the coastline with panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, mountains, and surrounding countryside, the villa features multiple pools, expansive terraces, outdoor dining spaces, beautifully designed bedrooms, and breathtaking sunset views.The property has been carefully chosen not only for comfort, but also for its incredible creative potential.From poolside editorials and luxury lifestyle imagery to sunrise portraits, balcony scenes, outdoor dining moments, and fashion-inspired content, the villa itself offers endless opportunities to create.Between shoots, you’ll have time to relax by the pool, enjoy the views, connect with other photographers, edit your images, and fully enjoy the experience of spending a week in Crete.

A TYPICAL WEEK 

Day 1  Arrival
Arrive at the villa, settle in, meet the group, and enjoy a relaxed welcome evening together.We’ll go over the retreat schedule, mood boards, shoot concepts, and what to expect for the week.
Day 2  Villa Editorial
Our first full shooting day will take place at the villa, using the pools, terraces, architecture, and views to create luxury lifestyle and editorial-inspired imagery.
Day 3  Mediterranean Village Story
We’ll head into one of the nearby villages for a fashion and lifestyle shoot using beautiful streets, stone textures, traditional architecture, and natural light.
Day 4  Coastal Fashion / Beach Day
A day focused on swimwear, fashion, and lifestyle imagery along one of Crete’s beautiful beaches or coastal locations.
Day 5  Creative Portfolio Day
This day will focus on helping photographers create stronger, more personal portfolio work.We’ll continue shooting with professional models while allowing space for individual creative direction, feedback, and experimentation.
Day 6 Final Breakfast and Check Out

We’ll wrap up the retreat with one final meal and we'll be on our way!

Crete offers an incredible variety of locations, allowing us to create multiple completely different visual stories throughout the week.
Luxury Villa Editorial: We’ll use the villa’s architecture, pools, terraces, sea views, and natural light to create elevated lifestyle and editorial imagery.Think sun-drenched terraces, linen textures, poolside portraits, effortless styling, and luxury travel campaign energy.
Mediterranean Village Editorial: We’ll explore charming Greek villages with stone alleyways, rustic architecture, colorful doors, hidden corners, and authentic Mediterranean character.This is perfect for storytelling, fashion portraits, lifestyle imagery, and travel-inspired editorials.
Coastal Fashion Story Crete is home to crystal-clear water, dramatic coastlines, soft sand, and beautiful Mediterranean light.We’ll use carefully selected beach or coastal locations to create swimwear, fashion, and lifestyle imagery with a polished editorial feel.
Hidden Coves & Boat Day Depending on logistics and weather, we may include a boat excursion to explore secluded coves, turquoise water, and coastal locations that feel more private and unique.This would be a chance to create imagery that feels like a luxury summer campaign,  relaxed, cinematic, and distinctly Mediterranean.
Sunset Portrait Session
We’ll take advantage of Crete’s golden light and coastal views for a sunset session focused on movement, emotion, styling, and atmosphere.

To keep the experience intimate and ensure everyone has enough time to shoot, ask questions, and receive guidance, this retreat is limited to only 7 photographers.

FAQ

What's Included: Your retreat fee includes retreat attendance, luxury villa accommodation, professional models, access to all photoshoots, transportation to and from planned shoot locations, welcome dinner and personalized guidance throughout the retreat. Flights, airport transportation, travel insurance, most meals, alcoholic beverages, and personal expenses are not included unless otherwise specified.

Maximum Participants: The retreat is limited to just 7 photographers to ensure a personalized experience for everyone.Keeping the group small allows for individual shooting opportunities, portfolio development, creative freedom, and plenty of one-on-one guidance throughout the week.

Dress code:The retreat takes place from August 30th to September 4th, one of the most beautiful times of year in Crete.Expect warm sunny days, temperatures ranging from approximately 24°C to 32°C (75°F to 90°F), warm sea temperatures, and very little rainfall.Pack lightweight clothing, comfortable walking shoes, swimwear, sunscreen, a hat, and anything you may need for long days outdoors.Many of our shoots will take place near the water, so bringing sandals or water shoes is recommended.

Portfolio Use: You will retain all images from the workshop to use in your portfolio and online (non-commercial use only). If posting online, please tag the models, makeup artists, and Anita Sadowska as the workshop host.

Snacks and Drinks: Light snacks, tea, coffee, and water will be provided. (Please inform us of any food restrictions or allergies.) Any group lunches or dinners are optional and not paid for.

Who Can Join: This retreat is open to photographers of all experience levels.Whether you're a hobbyist, aspiring professional, established photographer, content creator, or simply looking to expand your portfolio and creative skills, you're welcome to join us.

Refunds: Retreat payments are non-refundable.If you're unable to attend, you're welcome to transfer or resell your spot to another photographer at face value, subject to approval by the retreat organizer.We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance to protect yourself against unexpected cancellations or travel disruptions.

Do you need a visa? Visa requirements vary depending on your nationality.Please check your country's current entry requirements for Greece prior to booking flights.Participants are responsible for obtaining any required travel documents, visas, or entry permits.

Do I Need To Rent A Car?No.Transportation to and from all planned photoshoot locations is included, so a rental car is not necessary for participating in the retreat.However, if you'd like additional freedom to explore Crete on your own during free time, you're welcome to rent a car independently.Many participants choose not to rent a vehicle, while others enjoy having the flexibility to explore nearby beaches, villages, restaurants, and attractions outside of retreat hours.The choice is entirely up to you.

What do I need to bring with me? Bring whatever gear you normally enjoy shooting with.Professional equipment is not required.Recommended items include:
• Camera body
• Lenses of your choice
• Extra batteries
• Memory cards
• Battery chargers
• Laptop (recommended for editing and image reviews)
• Hard drive or backup storage
Editing sessions and portfolio reviews will be easier if you bring a laptop with Lightroom and/or Photoshop installed.

Will I have my own room? Yes.Every participant will have their own private bedroom within the villa.One of the benefits of keeping the retreat small is that everyone has space to relax, recharge, edit photos, and enjoy some quiet time between shoots.No shared accommodations are required for participants.

Can beginners attend? Absolutely. The retreat is designed for photographers of all experience levels.

What if I've never traveled for photography before?That's exactly why this retreat exists. It's designed to combine travel, creativity, portfolio building, and community in a supportive environment.

Spaces are extremely limited and applications will be reviewed in the order they're received.
